Information About Travelling by Train

  • You can still travel to the French Alps outside of the ski season but train schedules differ, so please check in advance.

  • A return journey with Eurostar/TGV to the French Alps is a good environmentally friendly choice.

  • Don’t forget Sainte Foy is only 20 minutes away from the train station at Bourg St Maurice.

  • Travelling by train is relaxing, no packing and unpacking luggage at security gates, not having to weigh your luggage, how wonderful to carry what you want.

  • You could choose to spend an additional night in Paris on your way – fabulous idea to make the whole holiday experience even more magical.

Eurostar/TGV Bourg-St. Maurice

Travelling by Train to Bourg Saint Maurice during the winter season

During the winter you can take the Eurostar train from London St Pancras to Paris, then a fast TGV to Chambery and then a local train or bus to Bourg Saint Maurice.

  • The Eurostar travels from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord

  • Transfer on the french Metro or via taxi (just over 4km) to Paris Gare du Lyon.

  • From Paris Gare du Lyon, via TGV (fast long distance french train) to Chambery.

  • From Chambery, via TER (local french train) or bus to Bourg Saint Maurice.

  • The journey time is roughly 8-10+ hours depending on date, time and season.

  • Book your train via The Trainline or SNCF

Once you arrive at Bourg Saint Maurice, you’ll need a transfer either by bus or taxi to Sainte Foy which is a 20 minute drive up the mountain.
