Flying to a Local Airport – Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble, Chambery

There are four airports that you can fly to in order to get to the resort of Sainte Foy Tarentaise. When you arrive at your airport, you have the choice of driving, taking public transport or booking a Première Neige Transfer to your destination. All of the airports are within three hour’s drive of your luxury accommodation.

Once you’ve decided on your destination airport, determine your nearest departure airport we suggest using one of the widely available search/comparison sites like SkyScanner to find the most suitable flights.

Geneva Airport – GVA

Drive Time: Geneva Airport to Ste Foy

Geneva Airport is located in both Switzerland and France although it is easier to depart the airport from the Swiss side when travelling to Sainte Foy. The airport is around 2 hours 45 minutes from Sainte Foy (162 km / 100 miles).

Coach/Bus/Taxi Services

Altibus – Geneva Airport straight to Ste Foy Village (approx 2 hours 45 minutes), there is then a shuttle bus up to Ste Foy Station.

Bensbus – Geneva Airport to Ste Foy Village (approx 2 hours and 45 minutes), there is then a free shuttle bus up to Ste Foy Station.

An alternative to the shuttle service; a taxi can be booked via our Concierge team.

Train Services

Rail Europe – Geneva Airport to Bourg-Saint-Maurice via Chambéry (appx 3-4 hours depending on connections). The train station is below the airport, clearly signed in the arrival terminal. All trains from the airport stop at Geneva town station; it may be necessary to change at Geneva first. It is necessary to pass through customs so allow time for this when planning to travel from Switzerland to France on the train.

Lyon Airport – LYS

Drive Time: Lyon Airport to Ste Foy

Lyon is the third largest city in France and has a very large airport : Aéroport Lyon Saint-Exupéry. It is located about 2 hours 45 minutes from Sainte Foy (213 km / 132 miles).

Coach/Bus/Taxi Services

Altibus – Lyon Airport to Ste Foy Village (approx 3 hours), there is then a shuttle bus up to Ste Foy Station.

Bensbus – Lyon Airport to Ste Foy Village (approx 2 hours and 45 minutes), there is then a free shuttle bus up to Ste Foy Station.

An alternative to the shuttle service; a taxi can be booked via our Concierge team.

Train Services

Rail Europe – Lyon Airport to Bourg-Saint-Maurice direct (appx 3 hours). Lyon Airport to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, changing at Chambéry (appx 4 – 5 hours).

Grenoble Airport – GNB

Drive Time: Grenoble Airport to Ste Foy

(Grenoble-Isère) is located around 2 hours 45 minutes from Sainte Foy (211km / 131 miles). The best driving route to Sainte Foy is often via Chambéry as it avoids driving through Grenoble which can be busy.

NB – We do not offer shared or private transfers from Grenoble Airport. We can help you with booking the transfer through one of our trusted partners.

Chambery Airport – CMF

Drive Time: Chambery Airport to Ste Foy

Chambéry Airport: Aéroport de Chambéry-Savoie is just 1 hour 45 minutes to Ste Foy by car (124 km / 77 miles). It currently operates during the winter months but is continuing to grow in both size and the number of flights being scheduled there.

Heli-Transfer

Chambery Airport Helicopters Gives a helpful list of helicopter operators for the local ski resorts.

Coach

Altibus – Chambéry Airport to Ste Foy Ski Station (apx 2h:15m). Then there is a free shuttle bus up to the resort. Alternatively a taxi can be booked via our Concierge team.

Train Services

You would need to take a taxi to Chambéry town centre train station (10km from the airport). Get the train to Bourg-Saint-Maurice and then from there, a taxi, bus or Première Neige Transfer will need to be arranged to get up to Ste Foy.
