Updates from Première Neige

Your quick view of our latest information & news including Covid 19

Our Commitment

We understand that the present Covid-19 situation is creating a lot of uncertainty and that you may be nervous about committing to a holiday. However we want to re-assure you that we have been working hard behind the scenes to get our holiday program for next winter in place so that you are able to book with confidence. Should Cover-19 disruption mean that you are unable to take your holiday this coming winter season you will have the choice to move your booking to next season.

Your Safety

No-one can predict the coming months but we are following all recommended guidelines in resort to ensure your safety and will keep you updated with our guidelines as the winter season approaches.

In the meantime we are keeping this page for recent updates, frequently asked questions and some positive news to help you plan your winter escape to our snowy mountain environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

We won’t automatically cancel your accommodation booking but we will be in touch within 2 weeks of your due travel date to find out your preferred decision based on the situation at that date. If the FCDO is advising against all but essential travel and you prefer not to travel to your accommodation you can choose to move the monies paid to later in the 20/21 season or use in the following season. We will issue you with a credit note voucher for your accommodation to be used against a future booking. Alternatively, you can request a refund minus the deposit paid (which covers our costs already incurred) as set out in our T&C’s.

If this happens you will not be allowed to travel so you will need to cancel your holiday accommodation. We will not be able to refund you at this late stage as we will be liable to costs from suppliers but you may be able to make a claim on your insurance. We know many insurers will cover Covid-19 on a personal illness basis. We would suggest that you check this with your insurer at the time of, or before booking your holiday with us. We make taking out adequate travel insurance an obligation of booking so you are fully protected.

Please see ‘Do I need Insurance’ in the question below for more details.

Part of our Terms & Conditions for your holiday is that you have adequate insurance. We’ve been keeping our ear to the ground to find out about available insurance policies in light of Covid 19. Some providers are offering medical insurance as we head towards our departure from the EU and we have no doubt more will become available. For some choices you might like to visit:

You should follow local guidelines with respect to self-isolation and contact your travel insurer to enquire about medical treatment options or repatriation. We are unable to provide any compensation for loss of holiday days as a result of this scenario.

Quarantine and self-isolation arrangements will vary from country to country depending on where you are travelling from. You should check the entry requirements for travelling to and from France with your applicable governmental body at the time of travel.

If travel to France is allowed but you are required to self-isolate/quarantine upon your RETURN to the UK, then we will not cancel your accommodation and a refund will not be available. However in this instance, you can opt to postpone to another date within the 20/21 season or move to next season.

Please note that there may be separate exemptions for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

We will take advice from the local authorities and suppliers in respect of social distancing and hygiene protocols and do our utmost to implement this advice with as little disruption as possible to your holiday. In the current climate, this advice is ever changing, and we thank you for your understanding on this point.

This will depend on the local rules that are in force at the time of travel, both in France and your country of departure. To date they are being recommended on public transport, in shops and lift queues.

If through personal choice, rather than due to governmental action you decide that you wish to cancel your holiday, our normal cancellation terms would apply as shown in ‘what about deposits?’ below. The cancellation charge that will apply will depend on the point at which you notify us of your disinclination to travel.

We hope that some more peace of mind and flexibility will go a long way to help you feel more confident booking a holiday with us, so we are offering the below measures, should your holiday be unable to proceed as a result of Covid-19.

  • Choice to move your booking until next season should Covid 19 prevent you from travelling this season.
  • Improved cancellation terms to allow you to be in the driving seat should you wish to change your mind.
Period Before Departure in which you notify usCancellation Charge
More than 40 daysDeposit only (25%)
More than 30 days40% of holiday cost
More than 21 days60% of holiday cost
More than 15 days80% of holiday cost
Less than 15 days100% of holiday cost

The above table applies to new bookings only, made from 1st July 2020 onwards for bookings departing this season only, ie December 2020 to April 2021.

If the balance of the holiday is not paid by you on or before the due date, Première Neige reserves the right to treat this as a cancellation of the booking by you and the cancellation charges outlined shall apply. We recommend that you ensure that your insurance policy covers you against irrecoverable cancellation costs.

For clarity and to keep you fully informed, we’ve updated our holiday terms & conditions that include our refund policy, insurance and other important information. We would strongly advise you read them thoroughly before booking your winter holiday for your peace of mind.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you, however, we are still working remotely with a reduced team. This means communication is limited in the following ways:

Telephone
Our telephones are not manned all the time, however you can always leave a voicemail and we will listen to it in due course. One of our sales team will get back to you either by email (if we have it) or a return phone call.

Chat Message
We have a chat messaging system which shows at the bottom of each page. This is a great way to get in touch with us and is quick and easy to use. When the office is not manned you can leave a message for us.

Email
You can either fill in our contact form with a message, and this is a great way to tell us what type of accommodation you would like to book and has some helpful questions to help us answer your query quickly. Alternatively you can email us directly using [email protected]. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

We aim to try to respond within 24 hours, but please be patient in these difficult times.

Our kind of social distancing

Just a few of the reasons Sainte Foy ticks the social distancing boxes:

  • Consider this – we all wear gloves and face coverings by default on the slopes – it will feel normal. How great is that!
  • Sainte Foy only has chairlifts; none of the big cable cars and gondolas of bigger resorts.
  • Those quiet slopes and pistes – need we say more
  • No big nightclubs or large party venues

New Lifts… faster with better spacing

Sainte Foy is in the process of adding additional chairs to the bottom chairlift (Grand Plan). This will mean better carrying capacity.

Additionally, there is a completely new 6 man chair going in to the 2nd lift (Arpettaz) to replace the old 4 man lift. This lift will also travel more quickly than the older lift for a speedier ascent!
