Service for Families

The Crèche

Our “Cub Club” crèche is located in the heart of Sainte Foy resort. It is purpose built, fully licensed and is one of the best equipped ski crèches in the French Alps.

We offer quality childcare so that you can enjoy your family ski holiday safe in the knowledge that your children are receiving the best possible care and attention.

We thought Première Neige was brilliant - for us the crèche was a real draw, as was the intimacy of the resort.

Guest feedback, 2007/2008

The crèche is stocked with a wide range of toys and games and has a central play area, a separate sleeping room which is fully monitored, a separate dining area, under-floor heating throughout, children’s toilets and nappy changing facilities. There is plenty of natural light as it is not in the basement of a chalet like so many other crèches in the Alps.

We only provide limited places in the crèche so you can be sure your child is receiving personal attention whilst on you are on your ski holiday in Sainte Foy. Our team of fully-qualified nannies provide a fun, caring environment so your child will not be sat in front of a video all day!

Resort specialists really come into their own...in this market, we continue to hear good things about Première Neige.

Chalets: The Low Down

Assured Safety For Your Child:

We take your child’s safety very seriously from the very start of the booking process for your skiing holiday. Our crèche and nursery is fully-equipped with all modern safety features; we have taken away any sharp corners and all doors have anti-pincer devices which ensure that little hands do not get caught.

The crèche was built from scratch and conforms to all French licensing standards, alas this is not the norm in the Alps where many crèches are unlicensed.

The Première Service crèche is in a very central and easy, accessible location. There is lots of room and an abundance of natural light, except in the separate, monitored sleeping area.

All of our childcare staff are extremely experienced. They also have to pass a police background check and each nanny has a First Aid certificate.

Crèche Quick Facts:
  • Open 7 days: Monday to Sunday; 08.30 to 17:00
  • Places in the crèche are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment especially during peak family skiing holiday periods

Nannies & Babysitting

We believe that quality childcare and flexibility are fundamental to an enjoyable family ski holiday which is why we not only offer the "Cub Club" crèche but also the choice of having your own private nanny whilst you are on your ski holiday.

Your nanny will be with your children all day from 09:00 to 17:00 for all six days of your stay. Normally you will be guaranteed the same nanny for the whole week. Your private nanny will prepare fun-filled indoor and outdoor activities for your children as well as a nutritious, yummy lunch.

Your nanny will be able to drop off and pick up children from ski lessons, bring them to visit you for lunch or entertain them all day long while you enjoy your skiing!

Nanny & Childcare Ratios:

Our nannies are all extremely experienced and their references have been thoroughly checked. They are chosen for their previous experience and rapport with children which ensures that your child is in a positive environment which focuses on learning and enjoyment whilst on holiday.

All of our nannies speak English as their first language and are qualified in first aid. There are excellent medical facilities in the area should your child become ill at any time during your winter ski holiday.

Each crèche nanny can look after:

  • 2 Infants aged 3 months to 2 years or
  • 3 Children aged 3 and over or
  • 5 Children aged 4 and over

The current childcare ratios* are:

  • 1 Adult to 3 Children for 0-2 yr olds
  • 1 Adult to 4 Children for 2-3 yr olds
  • 1 Adult to 8 Children for 3-5 yr olds

* Sourced from the Guidance & Regulations to the Children Act Vol 2

Our crèche has a maximum occupancy of 10 children so our ratios are much lower than the national average ensuring that your child receives the best care whilst you are on your family ski holidays.

Our childcare products are often in great demand and places are limited, we therefore strongly advise you to book as early as possible, especially during peak family ski holiday periods.

Evening Babysitting Service:

Relax and enjoy an evening in one of the local restaurants in and around Sainte Foy safe in the knowledge that your children are being well looked after.

All of our babysitters are responsible Première Service employees, either from the crèche or the rest of our resort team. They are contactable by phone should you want to check that all is well.

The babysitting service is €15 per hour for a minimum of 3 hours, €20 per hour after midnight.

What to Bring

Packing for the family can be a large task so here are some friendly suggestions on what to bring to your family snow holiday as well as some handy travelling tips.

What to Bring & Wear:
  • Food, baby wipes and toys for the journey
If you book a Première Neige transfer we can provide these for you, please just ask in advance. Our latest model VW minibuses include all modern safety features as well as baby or booster seats when requested
  • Plenty of warm clothing for your children
Hats, scarves, gloves and goggles are essential on a family ski holiday
  • Backpack
To store hats, scarves, gloves etc for the family whilst out and about in the snow, and don't forget plenty of high factor sunscreen
  • Hire a helmet for your child
Safety is of paramount importance on a family ski holiday. All of the local ski shops have this facility and it is compulsory during ski lessons that your child wears one
Travel Tips:
  • If possible, avoid travelling on a Saturday
Airports, motorways and mountain roads are very busy on Saturdays. At Première Neige we offer Sunday transfers; the roads and airports are much quieter and travel to your ski resort of Sainte Foy will be much more comfortable. View our travel advice page
  • If you plan to fly, feed your baby on take-off and landing
This encourages babies to swallow at regular intervals and decreases the likelihood of painful air pressure symptoms. The same applies when you arrive and depart from Sainte Foy ski resort as you climb and descend from altitude
  • Pre-book ski school, childcare, and babysitting if you can
At peak times in the season (Christmas, half-term and Easter), ski school can get booked up and childcare is very popular for family ski holidays
  • Première Neige can provide all the children’s equipment that you will need in Sainte Foy resort
We have a selection of cots, seats and prams for you to use during your holiday as well as baby monitors and sterilisers. We can even provide a selection of children’s toys in your ski chalet (subject to availability). Our DVD library contains many of the latest children’s films and guests in all of our properties may use this facility

FAQs

When choosing a family ski holiday there are many factors to consider and sometimes it may seem a little overwhelming. Here are some of your frequently asked questions which we hope we have answered.

What type of childcare facilities are there?

Première Service has its own "Cub Club" crèche and private nanny service available six days a week. We also run a babysitting service in the evenings to allow parents time to explore the cosy bars and restaurants of Sainte Foy and the local area.

Is there a ski school in Sainte Foy?

Yes, there are two. There is an ESF ski school as well as K Spirit, both of which have English-speaking instructors and staff. The ESF run a morning ski school for children catering for beginner to advanced level skiing. There is a lovely beginners' ski slope centrally located at the bottom of the first lift with a restaurant next to it where parents can sit and watch their child’s first ski holiday steps!

Is the skiing suitable for children?

Sainte Foy is a small resort and boasts few queues, no crowds and lovely wide pistes so plenty of room for the family to have fun skiing and snowboarding without fear of losing children or being wiped out by the crowds. View our Sainte Foy skiing page

Is the accommodation suitable for children?

We can provide stair-gates, baby monitors, cots and high chairs as optional extras so you don’t have to bring them with you when you are planning your family ski holiday. To ensure availability, please contact us to pre-book. If booked more than two weeks in advance these will be free of charge.

How far is the accommodation from the slopes?

Première Neige ski chalets and ski apartments are all in close vicinity to both the crèche and the ski lifts (most are less than 150m) so no catching shuttle buses, just a pleasant stroll to the ski slopes.
